1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using GAYON (Guidance Assistance for the Youth Online), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Platform Purpose

GAYON is an educational platform designed to connect students with qualified guidance counselors across participating educational institutions. The platform facilitates:

  • • Online counseling sessions with licensed professionals
  • • Educational resources and mental health support materials
  • • Secure communication between students and counselors
  • • Cross-institutional guidance services

3. User Eligibility

To use GAYON services, you must:

  • • Be a currently enrolled student in a participating educational institution
  • • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • • Be at least 13 years of age (minors require parental/guardian consent)
  • • Agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of GAYON, you agree to:

  • • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
  • • Use the platform responsibly and for its intended purpose
  • • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of other users
  • • Follow all applicable laws and regulations
  • • Not share, reproduce, or distribute platform content without permission
  • • Not use the platform to harass, threaten, or harm others
  • • Report any technical issues or policy violations promptly

5. Privacy and Confidentiality

GAYON is committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining strict confidentiality of all counseling sessions and personal information. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect your data.

6. Service Availability

GAYON aims to provide 24/7 access to the platform, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The platform may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • • Scheduled maintenance and updates
  • • Technical difficulties or system failures
  • • Force majeure events beyond our control
  • • Security concerns requiring immediate attention

7. Professional Limitations

While GAYON provides access to qualified guidance counselors, users should understand:

  • • Online counseling has limitations compared to in-person sessions
  • • The platform is not a substitute for emergency mental health services
  • • Counselors may recommend in-person or specialized care when appropriate
  • • GAYON does not provide crisis intervention services

8. Emergency Situations

IMPORTANT:

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or having thoughts of self-harm, please contact local emergency services immediately or call the National Center for Mental Health Crisis Hotline at 1553.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the GAYON platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, is the property of CHED Region V or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

10. Limitation of Liability

CHED Region V and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use GAYON services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Account Termination

CHED Region V reserves the right to terminate or suspend user accounts for violations of these terms, inappropriate behavior, or any actions that compromise the safety and security of the platform or its users.

12. Modifications to Terms

CHED Region V reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising from the use of GAYON will be subject to the jurisdiction of Philippine courts.
